Dear readers,
We are very excited to announce our debut in English, starting January 4th, 2022.
If you don’t want to miss our first issue, you should subscribe straight-away and share this with your friends and colleagues.
WHAT’S UP • As a subscriber, you will receive our weekly newsletter about EU current affairs — every Tuesday morning with your coffee — alongside occasional interviews and long-reads.
We are in the business of providing a weekly, well-documented digest of EU-relevant news, covering all policy areas. Once a week is a good tempo to keep on top of the news while also getting the bigger picture. We try to keep it sharp, smart, and short.
Our French-speaking edition has been live for the last 18 months — and now gathers a very engaged community of 4,000 weekly readers.
For a newsletter which started off in French, it is quite an untimely moment to launch in English — given how hard the French are trying to use the upcoming presidency of the Council of the EU to prove that the EU’s lingua franca is la langue de Molière.
WHY READ US • Our weekly newsletter reviews all official communications by the institutions, as well as a broad range of press sources. We also monitor think-tank publications and what the EU bubble is saying on Twitter.
WHO READS US • From trainees, parliamentary assistants and students to ministerial advisors, MPs/MEPs, EU journalists, lobbyists and academics, our readers enjoy getting a ten-minute weekly round-up of what’s happening, why it matters, and where it’s going.
WHO’S HOLDING THE PEN • What’s up EU is put together every week by a talented and diverse team of seventy-five people from the whole continent.
They are professionals or students, from many different fields and nationalities. This breadth allows us to cover all policy areas, to get the sense of what Brussels is saying while also getting some insights from the capitals of the Member States.
GET IN TOUCH • We love hearing about what you have to say and our newsletter builds on comments and discussions we have. Please do reach out with your thoughts and comments!
See you soon, in your inbox !
